Drifting the Pass

We met up with my buddy Nate and his oldest boy last night in Boca.  We had an absolute blast, as always.  We got out to the Pass a little early and observed.  Lots of fish in the Pass early and boats were hooking-up, so we got in the game...

We couldn't ask for better conditions for most of the night.  The winds were right and Nate made the most out of it by putting us over pods of fish on every single drift.  In no time, we're hooked-up!  My girl puts the belt on and goes to work...

Nate gets the leader touch on a nice 100 lb. plus fish and breaks her loose...

My girl needs a Gatorade at this point but is ready to get back in the action...

Now we're hooked-up again, and this time it's me.  I battled the 150 plus fish for a good while, and she put me on my knees a few times during the fight.  She was one we would have taken to the scales so to speak.  Well worth the fight, which lasted about 25 minutes.

Finally I got her under control and to the boat.  She straightened the hook while boatside and was gone...

More action.  My girl hooks up again and makes relatively short work of this fish...

We're not done.  Nathan's boy gets hit next and puts the screws to the fish.  The kid's good.  He's gets him to the boat in no time but gets broke off...

The wind shifted out of the east for the incoming making it hard to drift.  We hung in there and got a few more hits before calling it a night.
