Skinny Water Culture's 2nd Annual Tarpon Season Kickoff!

I attended the annual Tarpon Season Kickoff, a party put on by Skinny Water Culture, at the start of May. Their crew puts on a pretty good party. After having dinner in Gulfport at Backfin Blue Café (known for MD style crab cakes), I stopped by Coasters Bar and Grill on Indian Rocks beach to check out the festivities; my family and I had a pretty good time. SWC put on a low country boil which consisted of crawfish, shrimp, potatoes and corn. Not a bad spread. The band Full Fledged Unit was in the house and I have to say, they play some good music, and for me to say that is rare; I’m a punk rock snob. I would go catch them again. Add some adult beverages and that was the recipe for a good time. Great people, great food, as well as a good band to kick off the season. Hopefully Vince from SWC will be putting this event on for years to come. Here are a few shots with the point and shoot camera. All this for a fish; I guess we are all strung out on the silver king.

I think next year will be even better, cause I will shut the place down!
